Is it possible to criticise something immature in an mature way?... Do you think I spend a lot of time hating things?... I used to really Love MTV, in the old days, pop was music in the old days, I actually listen to old pop hits from the 80's and early 90's still. If you turn on MTV nowadays it's just all these teens, that perform something they haven't been a part of making. It's this industry thing I guess (not that I know much about it). Kurt Cobain wrote a letter about this and it's true, the music channel has become an emty soul. I had this discussion with my brother (which makes music) about the industrialisation of things.
Art has always been something that haven't really been a part of the popularity culture (am I wrong?), it's either because artists take some sort of dignity or pride in knowing how to express originality rather than popularity, or simply because people dont really care that much about art. The only art form that is popular is fashion and commercialism and of course certain art forms expressed in movies and literature. But of course sex in the media have always been more popular than romance, like violence have always been better expressed than sex. The worse, the better? As long as it is popular, it doesn't matter what it is on the bottom it seems.
Religion has become an industry a long time ago, it's very few if none religions today that cant be bought. Do we tend to forget the true reasons behind these things? Is this the moment where I should bring up my deep hate for the mobile telephones?... What is wrong with industry, if you have something good to come around with, why not bring it out to a lot of people? but I guess the thing is; everything that one person, or a million think is good, is not necessarily good. The thing that industry lack is a sense of awareness and insight, what is popular isn't always posetive or good at all.
Hitler was a pretty creative guy in Germany the time he decided to rebel, they had seen war before but he was going to take it to another level, that no one really had seen before (at least not in Germany). A lot of people thought he was good at the time, then changed their minds when they saw he lost control. So that was the creative mind and the sheep's right? and we dont really change much... We still think that everything popular is good, because the masses tells us so. Maybe we should ask of the creative mind, that he show us some talent?, experience, give us something we need, something we can use; because it's suppose to entertain us, teach us, make us believe in the power of creativity.
Maybe eventually we'll find that the only good artist, is one that dont need to sign any autographs, because the artistic creation is his personal autograph in itself...
