Some time ago, in an email, I was asked a question about Israel and Palestine. I think I avoided the question and completely ignored it. I have done this before, in conversation.
-"Do you support Israel?" it said.
And maybe I should have answered that question. Specifically that question. Because it's simple. I don't think I know anyone who supports Israel. An old dead family member of mine, supported Israel. She was a hardcore strict Christian, of that type who you end up pitying, because of their human aggression. There was never any room for honest friendship, between this woman and someone else. And even my mother, who forgives people for their worsts actions, turned away from her in the end. She lived alone and died alone, on her birthday...
Religious warfare is one of the most immature things, we represent as human beings. People create their own little selfish prisons, with their religion, and the god is themselves. It was never anybody else. And that was this woman and that is Israel and Palestine. Excuses for peoples ego. Wanting to raise yourself above other peoples ego. Not daring to face the real issues. It has nothing to do with spirituality, communication or justice. It's humanity in it's own shit.
And the worst thing is that these people are actually, in the end, worth pitying. They are. Because deep down, this old woman used to be young and fresh and new. And something in her environment created this awful god of hers. But the sad thing is; everyone lives their life alone, behind the curtains. Very often they do. And we don't know the sadness that people hide...
I always wanted my mother, to find in herself a way to forgive this person. Because the meanness was so cruel and so immature, it was not worth getting offended by. And that's how it is, with most of those type of folks. And I bet their Jesus would forgive them too, because they really do prove, that humanity is still an infant...
So, no I don't support Israel.
About something else. People reading me, have sometimes misunderstood me. To keep it clear: I do not hate, or think that American people are all the same. I have often expressed my love of America, so my opinion about the Iraq war, have nothing to do with hate. I don't either hate military men, just because I don't agree with the military. I have nothing against any religion, person or country, just because I don't support Israel. I don't agree with terrorism, violence or ANY of the things we have seen in the news, related to the war in Iraq. So please try to understand this and put yourself into, where I'm coming from here. Do it, before you ask me on my site here, or in my mail.
And I don't care who those kidnapped people are, I just hope they can be rescued. If one of them were a soldier who supported the war, I would of course still hope for him. I don't condone any type of violence that is done to anyone.
It was heart breaking to see Bigley beg for his life. I don't think they will spare him, but I hope someone will manage to release him... Although he already had a halo...
I have thought a lot about those nasty beheading videos. Obviously they wish to instill fear with them. And make people angry with their leaders. Because the videos shows civilians, people like you and me, being brutally killed. No matter how the result will be, if their demands are given or not; they think they will still win on it. Either they get what they asked for, or they instill fear. Both will grant them their real purpose; to get foreigners out of Iraq and to boost their power.
So maybe the videos should have been censured from the start? After all, brutal violence is not news in itself. I think the videos should be displayed to the public, but maybe in an edited version. You might disagree with me and I'm personally not very happy about censorship either. But in warfare times, things like this are used as propaganda, to foster a side. And people who headcut without remorse, do not really deserve the power trip it brings.
I despise the headcutting, as much as I despise the electric chair. It's propaganda for people who love, the smell of fear and blood.
I agree with the news who share serious information and facts. Also those news sources, who decided to display the videos in their raw format. So I'm not trying to criticise the informants, I'm just claiming that these videos, might not always serve the right purpose. When things have calmed down and the average viewer turn away in disgust, the videos are added to an entertainment site, who display everything from pornography to extreme violence. That's the sad truth and that's the negative part of it.
I believe that foreigners should be warned. And that people must make themselves more aware, of their own situations. Because the politicians are not fighting for your individual rights, they think about the economy, the country and the masses. And when you are stuck, they will not make decisions based on your needs, as one little man.
With this I wanted to say; civilians should not enter a country, that is suffering from warfare. Not if they care about their life and the people who cares about them. If they want to give aid, they should do so by not entering the country. And companies who use their employees to work in those places, should not maintain their position there, under unsafe conditions. These companies are criminal, if they don't provide safety to their workers.
This is just my outlook on things, I'm not saying I am right about everything I write. I don't have any fancy solutions, perfect ideas and I'm only a common person, not an expert in these difficult questions. So try look at it from that angle when you read.
I have some links to share:
It must be great to be a Muslim in America.
I know we can work it out together.
Or maybe not...
