I have gotten a lot of replies, on my thoughts on the Iraq war and Bush. Some have enlightened me, others I have heard before. As I have said many times, I'm thankful for all the comments I get on my writing here. I read everything, although I'm not always as good, as I would have liked to be with my replies. I respect everyone's opinion and it doesn't matter if you disagree with me. I will bow myself in the dust for your approach. Your care. Your honestly kind or ignorant rants. We are not all in the same boat and we can snap at each other, like jealous dogs, but in the end, I feel it's good, that we are able to exchange our thoughts.
Some of the most ignorant comments I have gotten, has to do with country borders. Things like; If you live outside my hut, it's none of your business where we get our wood. If you don't live in my hood, we will always treat you as an outsider. This town is better than your town. Here's a list to prove to you, all the great things we did to the world. We are special and better and best and we should be the role model. The ultimate. We have nothing to learn from you.
-What is this? If isn't just like racism, fascism, sheep mentality and good old fashioned cave men mentality.
My morality is:
Don't brag about myself, if I have nothing good to say about others.
Don't justify my own negativity, by proving that others are more negative.
It's more important to try to inspire, than it is to attack what I dislike.
Anti-inspiration breeds a passive mind.
The bridge is always my goal.
Bury ignorant pride.
Personally I would welcome people and their ideas, if they came to my country with a wish to make our society better. Because I think every country, needs some fresh new minds and a little bit of counterbalance. And challenge. If we cant communicate and share ideas, then what's the point with politics?
I sat and saw most of the Bush and Kerry debates. I know that Bush have been popular and that he is seen as a strong opponent to Kerry. But what I feel, seeing him talk; he doesn't come off as a very good talker. A lot of times, he even seem confused. I saw it in him, even more during these debates. And whether he will be President or not, I think people will eventually view him, to have been a weak politician. I don't say this because I disagree with him, because I could say this about politicians I agree with as well. It's only my assumption based on what I have seen.
In reference to the things I mentioned above. On country borders, or people borders. I saw a Larry King show, who dealt with these issues. You can read a transcript of it here. It was frustrating to see how extremely narrow minded, the Jewish guy Prager was. He would express that America had the best society in the world. Sweden was not allowed to "push" on him, their ideas when it came to politics. In other words, Sweden should only do foreign politics in the spirit of United States. But USA on the other hand, was allowed to use force, because they did it for the right reasons. Women were more prone to become gay, because they seek tenderness more than men do. If gay would be able to get married, then siblings would maybe also want to marry each other. I only saw a sparkle in his eye, a sadness and anger, when he talked about the crimes against jews, during second world war. He also claimed that Nazism was based on a secular ideology and that the Church, should be forgiven for not standing up against it.
In my idea, it's selfish pitying, when you cannot see the cruel treatment you use, trough peoples mistreatment of you. Because racism is not about blacks or jews, it's about people who fall outside the primitive ideas. It could be you, it could be me. It could be anyone.
A lot of the things he said was not just ignorant, it is also not true. I do agree with that the Church should be forgiven for it's crimes. But it should not be forgotten. And to make my point clear; I don't think it's ever a good idea, to use borders to try to keep the bad from the good. To keep a little thread and a little sympathy and an openness to the other side, will in the end also strengthen yourself.
