Because I have written about the war in Iraq and about my dislike in Bush, in many entries here. I will now, before the presidential election on November the 2, do a little bet with those who read me. If you think this is dumb, just ignore it, it's only for fun.
We will bet about who the next President of United States will be. Bush or Kerry.
Personally I believe that Bush will be President for another round. But if I was an American, I would vote for Kerry. Not because Kerry would be perfect for the job, but because I think he would at least be slightly better than Bush. But I'm not an American, I'm a Norwegian and I'm only an outsider in this matter. But since the American foreign policies affects a lot of people, I'd say that it's also our business, to express a concern.
You might ask why I think Bush will be President again. I have answered this before. I think he will, because his beliefs, are very well rooted in the western world. And I think we will see, many men like him in the near future. Although, I also think we will learn from them and change our political road and eventually vote for other men. Maybe the future for a change is close, maybe it's distant. We can only guess and try to make a small impact.
My reasons to not want Bush to be President are many and I don't want to make a list here. I will tell you about the most basic reasons, without pointing out, the serious facts.
Why Bushie Should Go:
1. A President should have more political experience and knowledge, than the current President seem to own. For example, Schwarzenegger is not educated in politics. I think there should be some type of rule, that demands a certain maturity, when it comes to these jobs. Let me mention education. If education is so important in most jobs, then one of the most important jobs, the job of a President, should require educational background.
2. His political religion. I don't agree with the mixture of religion and politics. Religion should be (in my idea) a personal, spiritual matter. A political person shouldn't use his faith to show support, as not everyone agrees with his religion. And I would never vote for a person, who doesn't know the difference between god and his own finger.
3. The death penalty. Violence with silk gloves. Serial killers by law and order. Bush used to be the man who represented the death penalty, to us who oppose it. His work as a governor helped me dislike him, long before he became a President. If I should be completely honest, I would say that this is probably the strongest reason, for why I feel he is unfitted in politics.
4. His wish to not cooperate. And the fact that I honestly believe, that he and his type of people, are a threat to the whole world.
These four points are my reasons, to not want him to be in power. There are a lot more fundamental reasons perhaps (that has to do with welfare and warfare) and I'm sure you could add your own reasons to the list.
For those of you who wish to seriously bet with me, about the upcoming election. I have decided that I will give a prize, if I'm wrong. This means that if Kerry wins, I will pick a lucky winner, of those who volunteered and dared to bet with me and send them a gift.
The Betting Rules Are:
1. You can live anywhere in the world (but it's extra fun if you are an American).
2. You must tell me that you want to bet for the prize, in my comments here.
3. You must add your email address in the email field there.
4. You must think, or at least hope that Kerry wins.
5. You don't actually have to vote for, or agree with Kerry.
6. If Bush wins, I'll keep the prize for myself.
7. If Kerry wins, I will randomly pick a winner and email them.
8. The winner must privately, share with me their house address.
9. The winner will be revealed in an entry here.
10. I send the prize gift to your address.
11. The gift will not include a bomb.
And most importantly; the use of flirtational technics to win, will not be regarded. Honest approach works fine.
And maybe you wonder what the prize will be? It will be a Care Bear Wish Beanie. You can keep it to yourself, or give it to a small child or a dog if you like. I know that the America Cares Beanie would suit the occasion better, but I don't have that one... Hm, if I decide to buy the America Cares version, to give it as a prize instead of the Wish Bear, I will tell you later. It will be one of those two. If you participate, you can tell me which one you would want.
Naturally, you can write in my comments, even if you don't want to join the bet. If you don't tell me that you wish to bet for the prize, I will not either add you, into my random pick. As I said, anyone can bet, also those who strongly dislikes Kerry, but thinks he will win. You don't even have to like me. If I win, if Bush wins, I will maybe want to have another bet later on, about something else. That is if people want to bet with me. Because I have always enjoyed, making little bets with friends of mine.
